This discourse is making me think about how Stonewall (yes, the one from the Stonewall Uprising) was a mafia run bar running a racket on desperate gay people shunned elsewhere with high cover costs, serving trash drinks, periodic planned cop raids, blackmailing clients etc. etc.
Colour me absolutely baffled that the Dems do not have a single candidate they think is a better bet to beat Trump than Joe Biden.
In 2020 they had a host of candidates, almost ALL of whom were more appealing than Biden, & Biden is older & frailer & a genocidaire now.

you know what kills me the most about this artwork?
how very, very young wei wuxian was when he was in xuanwu cave. when everything changed. baoshankaro made him look so young here and it just kills me
I’ve noticed this trend, too. It’s exhausting. There’s a huge uptick in ableist slurs & lateral ableism from disabled people unfamiliar w/disability justice. Many respond w/hostility when it’s pointed out & derisive about the importance of our movement.
This thread and the thread it came from are great, but THIS is why I'm always working to remove/keep those words from my vocabulary. Once you learn a word's harmful history, stop using it. I don't expect folks to know them all-I likely don't- but there are lots of resources💜
One correction-
Replace "middle" w "working"
The popularization of "lower, middle, & upper" class- as opposed2 "working class" vs "ruling class"- was an attempt2have classifications w income, but no functionality- hiding the economic exploitation of labor inherent in capitalism
70+ days of nonstop protests worldwide calling for a ceasefire & an end to the genocide in Gaza…
Western media: Let’s try scapegoating Black Americans again 💀
Services, programs, & resources are already underfunded and the proposed changes in @uscensusbureau’s data collection will erase an estimated 20 million disabled people resulting in changes in allocation of resources

In 1970, the NY Times published a piece purporting to expose Jewish fears that anti-zionism was the new antisemitism within Black Power and New Left groups. The FBI took notice and turned the article into a pamphlet as part of its Counterintelligence Program or COINTELPRO. 1/13
The @nytimes has published a cartoon bearing inexplicable resemblance to Nazi propaganda.
The Nazis promoted their eugenics campaign by asserting that healthy people carry the weight of the disabled.
Now, the Times uses the same imagery to call for slashing Social Security.
What that solidarity might look like: refusing to refer to the pandemic in the past tense, volunteering to test and limit exposure before visiting those friends, pushing to continue hybrid events, or just, you know, remembering we exist.
