Me: “Excuse me? I paid for this seat. My boarding pass clearly says 14A. Why should I leave because someone else wants it?”

Flight Attendant: “Ma’am, please don’t make this difficult. Mr. Richard is already on his way.”

Me: “So because he is rich, my ticket suddenly means nothing?”

Mr. Richard: “What’s going on?”

Flight Attendant: “Sir, I’m sorry. She’s refusing to move from your seat.”

Mr. Richard: “And who is she?”

Me: “A passenger who paid for her seat.”

Mr. Richard: “I don’t care who you are. Move.”

Me: “No.”

Mr. Richard: “Do you know who I am?”

Me: “No. And honestly, I shouldn’t have to.”

Flight Attendant: “Ma’am, please cooperate. Mr. Richard is one of our most important passengers.”

Me: “Important enough to take a paying passenger’s seat?”

Mr. Richard: “Captain, I want her removed.”…
