Zack Polanski’s latest Sky News whinge is peak Green hypocrisy.

“The idea that MPs can go for a drink and then make decisions on 69 million people’s lives, and not be doing that sober, will seem very strange to the public.”

Spare us the nanny-state sermon, Zack. One pint at lunch has never stopped Britain functioning. Churchill ran a world war half-cut and we won. Your party’s entire platform, however, is one long exercise in impaired judgment, and every single policy is worse than a drink at lunchtime.

Here’s the run-down:

Drug legalisation
You want cannabis legalised and the rest decriminalised. Stoned drivers, stoned workers, stoned parents, stoned MPs. That’s your “progress”. One glass of wine before a vote? Harmless. Your vision? A nation permanently half-baked. The public can see the difference even if you can’t.

Net zero zealotry
Scrap North Sea licences, ban new oil and gas, force unreliable renewables that can’t keep the lights on. Energy poverty, deindustrialisation, blackouts, jobs exported to China. All decided completely sober. One lunchtime pint looks positively responsible by comparison.

Gender ideology
Men in women’s prisons, sports, changing rooms and hospital wards because “self-ID”. Irreversible puberty blockers for confused kids. This isn’t compassion, it’s ideological capture dressed as policy. Sober? Yes. Dangerous and deranged? Absolutely. Far more damaging than any MP’s half-pint.

Mass low-skill immigration without integration
Open the doors while housing, NHS and wages are already broken. Working-class communities pay the price. Sober policy, catastrophic outcome. A tipsy backbencher has never caused this much long-term damage.

Economic illiteracy
Wealth taxes, anti-growth dogma, hostility to business. The same people who think a pint impairs judgment want to tax and regulate the country into stagnation. Brilliant.

Zack, the public doesn’t find it “strange” that an MP might have a drink. They find it strange that the Greens want to legalise harder drugs, crash the energy system, erase sex-based rights and import endless cheap labour, all while lecturing everyone else about sobriety and responsibility.

Your party’s manifesto is the real public health hazard. One drink at lunch is nothing. Your policies are the equivalent of necking the whole bottle, driving the car into a wall and calling it “compassionate progress”.

Sort your own house out before you lecture the rest of us. The bar isn’t the problem. The Greens are.
