There’s a trope called “save the cat” which story tellers use to make audiences root for a character. Have them preform a heroic act. In Obsession they did the literal inversion of this trope. They told you to not root for him from the start.

I rarely hear people talk about but I absolutely love the scene in Obsession where Nikki is taking a shower and Bear is telling her about the boys night. The tension in that scene is so intense and the acting is amazing from Michael and Inde truly a perfect scene imo
