Codex Plus is the one for $20.
Includes fewer limits, but they go further than Claude Max because GPT-5.5 uses ~6x fewer tokens to solve the same problem.
I've been kinda testing this for the last 3 months. Have all three subs - Codex/CCode/Cursor - and experimented with the tiers. The verdict is NO, CCode is not "the greatest deal in history" any more.
And now that Composer 2.5 is out, which is effectively unlimited and beats Opus 4.7 on many tasks - CCode is out.
In fact, CCode is the worst software product of the three.
It was first, it showed everyone the way, but there are better options now. There's no reason to use it other than "I'm too used and too lazy to switch".
It took me like 2 months, but I've grown to love gpt-5.5.
You have to prompt entirely different and put some time into your agents[.]md. Now that I'm over the hump, I can't really use any other model for code.
All the tech youtubers ( @MKBHD , @cleoabram ) reviewing the new Ferrari EV is hilarious.
