With all due respect & appreciation for acknowledging the concern @airindia - you have missed the ‘critical’ point made by Ms. Tania Dev (Nodal Officer Email through [email protected]), which confirms only the Passenger (Caretaker) with the Surgery is being granted the approval for date change & not the Traveler with Parkinson’s because they are not blood relatives. The truth of the matter is Ms. Dev believes a very Senior Citizen (who requested WheelChair Assistance too) can travel without the Caretaker? How can we be so insensitive to a genuine medical emergency impacting both passengers. Also, why would you propose a date change and not a complete refund under this challenging situation is what really concerns.

@airindia My Dear Air India, very (very) concerning to see your Customer Service Representative, Ms. Taniya Dev denying refunds for two Passengers - one of who is a very Senior Citizens & has Parkinson’s. Hence she was flying in with a Caretaker. The caretaker is now (unexpectedly) undergoing surgery on August 19, 2025. Both of the Passengers were on an international flight that is scheduled for August 20, 2025. Ms. Dec says both are not blood relatives & hence there is an issue. May More Grace Prevail. The Parkinson’s Passenger cannot travel on her own. In fact wrote into the Nodal Officer & received & email with denial. We’ve spent a considerable amount for both the tickets. Kindly look into this earnest request. #AirIndia #MedicalEmergency #EmpathyMatters

here can be multiple claimants for compensation, and it’s important to address how these issues will be resolved later. Air India is obligated to provide compensation in accordance with international conventions. They cannot deny compensation simply because a form hasn’t been filled out.
