He is one of the founders of #Japanese #manga & #anime. I used to watch his anime or read his manga every day. What an incredible loss. RIP

We had 2 quakes back to back. This guy says if the Scale 4 quake hadn't come before the Scale 6+ quake, he would have been dead.

Today is The Emperor's Birthday in #Japan 🇯🇵 Since we had new emperor a few years ago, this is only the 3rd year of having Feb. 23rd as a holiday. I'm still not used to having a day off in the middle of February in the middle of the week. (FYI, it was Dec. 23rd for 30 years)

This is the weirdest I’ve seen at one of #Muji stores in #Japan, Cricket Cracker. It is made of “edible” #cricket powder.
Another interesting point is that you can’t eat it if you are allergic to crabs & shrimps. 🦀🦐 Mysteriously it does taste a bit like shrimp cracker, #Ebisen

A humongous 3m-length #bear is killing livestocks in #Hokkaido, #Japan. It doesn't kill for food, just enjoys killing. One farm went out of business because too many cows are slashed.
It doesn't follow the normal behavior so they cannot catch it.

Today is #Setsubun, the day before spring, in #Japan.
As a tradition, we eat baked soybeans and a big sushi roll, #Ehomaki. That means, for us low-carb dieters, we can eat lots of carbs legally today.
I mean, my people's inheritance takes precedence over my diet.
