@SecRubio@POTUS Trump has claimed he “ended” six or seven wars since returning to the White House in January. Experts say he played a major role in ending four conflicts, though one country disputes this. However, some disputes he cites weren’t wars, and some clashes continue.
19-year-old Royal Artillery Gunner Jaysley Beck died in December 2021.
A coroner ruled the Army's failure to take action, after Gunner Beck was harassed by her line manager and sexually assaulted by another colleague, contributed to her death.
Her mother Leighann speaks to @susannareid100.
@SaluteHerUK@VeteransGovUK Other countries (eg. Canada) are moving forward to strip the military of their ability to investigate sexual assualts. https://t.co/gP6gF59o6R The UK can do better.
@SaluteHerUK@VeteransGovUK We need to end the "Mad Men" era in the military. Women are our (grand) daughters, sisters,..., and friends. How can we support their decision to join the military, if it is clear they will not be treated fairly? https://t.co/7pHWZrQiGJ
@TomCotterillMoL The behaviour you have described is disgusting. The system needs to change. I am launching a parliamentary petition to transfer all cases of sexual assault to be investigated by civilian authorities. Your support would be appreciated. https://t.co/7pHWZrQiGJ
@GMB@GMB@susannareid100 I have started a parliamentary petition to transfer military sexual assualt cases to be investigated by civilian authorities. https://t.co/7pHWZrQiGJ As a society we are better than this it is 2025.
@rightsofwomen Women have come a lng way but unfortunately as exposed by @Skynews report https://t.co/IK2OAqESmI and @openDemocracy there is still a long way to go. I have launched a petition to transfer cases of sexual assualt in the military to civilian authorities. https://t.co/7pHWZrQiGJ
I have launched a parliamentary petition for the UK government to transfer investigations for military sexual assault cases to civilians. I think this is the right thing to do based on reports by @SkyNews https://t.co/5nlv4tjzQw
and @openDemocracy https://t.co/KscDIsnwJ4

Harrowing accounts from army women of a culture where sexual abuse is not only rife but tolerated. As servicewomen speak out following the suicide of a young solider a former minister admits “colossal failure”. Report by @beccaspencersky and me here: https://t.co/IYAjL6TNUV
I was motivated by @EJShone93 and @sianushka's @opendemocracy report on sexual assault in the UK military to launch this petition. https://t.co/QyaRvZDiie
Many military sexual assault cases are not tried, and of those that are, only 30% result in convictions, compared to 70% in civilian courts. Women comprise 51% of the UK population but only 11% of the regular and 15% of the reserve forces. If women feel they cannot get justice within an institution, it hinders recruiting top talent from a majority demographic. It's 2025, transferring sexual assault investigations from the military to civilian authorities is long overdue.

Women make up 51% of the UK population but only 11% of the UK regular force and 15% of the reserve force. One reason for low levels of participation could be a lack of willinness to seriously address sexual misconduct. as indicated https://t.co/bNmXR9G7GA
