वे तमाम बुराई और बंधन जो पितृसत्तात्मक समाज को महिलाओं की आजादी को कुचलने वालें लगे उन्हें परंपरा और संस्कार बना दिया ताकि बिना विरोध के महिलाएं उन्हें स्वीकार कर लें और वह रूढ़ि फिर गर्व करने की बात हो गई।

लोग इसका इतिहास ढूंढने सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता से लेकर वैदिक काल तक की तह में जा रहे हैं। और मैं सोच रहा हूँ कि एक रूढ़ि को डिफेंड करके के लिए आदमी कितने - कितने तहखाने तलाश लेगा लेकिन यह स्वीकार नहीं करेगा कि हां ऐसी रूढ़ियां हो सकता है कभी समय की जरूरत रही होंगी लेकिन अब उन्हें तिलांजलि दें दी जाए तो ठीक है।

तो क्या बताना चाहते हो कि सिंधु सभ्यता और वैदिक काल में मनुष्य को ढंग से कपड़े पहनने का सऊर नहीं था लेकिन महिलाओं को घूंघट निकालना बहुत ठीक से आ गया था।

खुले विचारों का दिखना और होना दोनों में फर्क है। बात थोड़ी सेक्सी लगे तो कुछ युवा बोल रहे हैं कि यह महिला के ऊपर छोड़ देना चाहिए कि उसे घूंघट निकालना है या नहीं ? लेकिन क्यों छोड़ देना चाहिए ? जिस घूंघट को सदियों से गर्व की बात बना दिया हो तो ऐसा गर्व कौनसी महिला नहीं करना चाहेगी ? वह तर्क भी तो सिंधु सभ्यता या वैदिक काल से लेकर आओ जब घूंघट इजाद होते वक्त पुरुषों ने महिलाओं से एक बार भी पूछा हो कि घूंघट निकालना है या नहीं ?

महाकाल भस्म आरती के वक्त वहां मौजूद महिलाएं घूंघट निकालती हैं। उसका एक जायज लॉजिक है कि महाकाल को भस्म चढ़ाने के वक्त वे नग्न होते हैं और महिलाओं को वह नग्न अवस्था नहीं देखनी चाहिए।

बस इसी बात से पूरी व्याख्या साफ हो जाती है कि महिलाओं के मामलों में पुरुष समाज शुरू से नंगा रहा हैं और वह सदियों से कहता रहा है कि हम नंगे हैं, समाज नंगा है, इसलिए इसे घूंघट की ओट से देखो।

कुछ युवा कह रहे हैं कि पगड़ी पुरुष की शान है और घूंघट महिला की मर्यादा। और ऐसी घोषणा करके हम हर बार साबित करते रहते हैं कि शान ओ शौकत के प्रतीक हमेशा पुरुषों के लिए रहे हैं और मर्यादा महिलाओं के लिए।
