Heard from a friend in the biz tech companies are now demanding in-office for new hires...
And all the people looking are leaving those companies for remote.
Looks like I got #techcessioned.
My TLDR:
- UI Dev, UX, Product, enough backend to get by
- I shine when you need a broad skillset that can recruit and lead a team of specialists
- I know a lot about the entire product cycle
- Remote only, market rates
Everyone talks about hiring, but I don't see a ton online about retaining.
What are your best non-monetary tips for keeping talent in a remote, hyper-competitive world?
@jtheory Personal growth is really interesting.
You have to make sure everyone has a chance to grow the way they want to.
Which includes people that want to stay where they are and just get really good at what they do, and people that want to do new things.
@monarchwadia All joking aside, I actually do think making a point of scheduling occasional and optional fun activities is beneficial, especially for remote teams.
Never underestimate how powerful social bonds are within a team, or how detrimental it is not to have any.
I'll go first: walk your talk, and talk your walk.
Stand for something (mission, vision, social causes, etc.) and do it conspicuously and consistently.
I've seen that make a huge difference over and over again.
Getting notifications services for startups that died years ago have finally shut down is the tech equivalent of being visited by the ghosts of xmas past.
Getting an AWS bill for services you know you shut down is the demonic possession.
Wondering about rising prices in grocery?
We have an app for that.
See exactly how prices have changed, filter by location or product.
PS: we're hiring people that love data and making it easy to understand.
