The worst part of all this, is as SSB reported that food prices increased by 6.6% year-over-year, the central bank then uses that as an excuse to to further increase the interest rate. That is adding insult to injury.
Moved to Norway and shocked at the food system.
Supermarkets are essentially big corner shops.
Processed slop, tinned/packaged stuff everywhere, while fish, chicken beef, fruit/veg are very expensive.
Around 50% of all food sold in Norway is now ultraprocessed
@Thomashornall@kleppe_kristian I agree. In my neighbourhood most shop at either Rema1000 or Kiwi. We do go to Coop and Meny occasionally but for the daily milk/egg/bread there is not much need to. Having lived in Norway long enough and other countries long enough, I do agree that the protectionism hurts here.
@MortenStostad While these numbers seem right, but the effect of the wealth tax discouraging people to launch startups and gain more wealth is harder to measure, isn’t it? I always think that plays a factor in the amount of startups in Sweden vs. Norway.
@unixzii Perhaps file a feedback with the sample app so that we can profile and tell what is taking the time? I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that SwiftUI is the cause so quickly.
@BergeW@Tratnikstan I’m curious what do you mean by “Norway tries it now”? The wealth tax in Norway is not new and I’m not aware of any dramatic change in its policy. It might very well be true that there are some wealth exodus but how do you find the connection?
https://t.co/kCrVNwRbZk I found videos like these almost too easy to bash on Google Maps when you don’t have to say what alternatives do you use instead. I do use Google Maps for cycling navigation in Oslo and it is generally reliable.
@levelsio I’m little curious: Europeans like to complain about the unfair advantages of government subsidies, but what is stopping their governments from sponsoring their EV industries?
@JackouilleJack@levelsio I think the important part is to reach that average speed, and the breath of connections across such a large area (say, going from Berlin to Paris, the max speed gets quite close but the average speed is way lower).
@jacobtechtavern I think it is more realizing that a lot of UIKIt APIs probably should not be released in the first place, and now that we have the chance we don’t want to repeat the same mistake.
