The Robert Houle exhibit @agotoronto is amazing - it’s an excellent & engaging way to learn from an Indigenous artist by looking, reading & feeling. Indigenous art as pedagogy @UIEC_Tdsb@TDSB_Arts
Wishing you Winter Solstice well-wishes. It’s the shortest day and longest night - a great time to share stories and rest. And remember - the light always returns ❤️❤️❄️❄️

Joy is an art an ethics of resistance - @BillyRayB words to reflect upon. I think about leading & learning with joy & creativity - it’s a narrative other than that of the pitiful other needing allies, saving & help. Educators how can we co-resist narratives of oppression?
School-based health care is a newer concept in Canada and represents an important opportunity to address inequities in health care delivery. This is especially true for those with developmental and mental health needs.

I absolutely love this. Teach about slave revolts and how they set up just nations. Teach about how long and amazingly Indigenous people fought off European colonizers.
And don't stick to history, focus on our current battles as well.
Thinking about how you are going to engage with Anti-Black Racism education this school year starts with one quote from the OG, @chrisemdin: "The fear of what may go wrong can never supersede the possibility of what will go right"
It has been an incredible 11 years working in Regent Park and I cannot thank the students, families and greater community of our school enough for all that you have taught me. Nelson Mandela Park will always be in my heart! Wishing everybody a wonderful summer.
Thank you to the staff at Nelson Mandela Park PS for a beautiful send off today. After 11 years I will be leaving Nelson Mandela Park PS to become the new Principal at Golf Rd JPS.
