You call immigrants “invaders” and protesters “insurrectionists.” That’s not immigration policy. That’s the language of authoritarianism. It’s how you turn neighbors into enemies. And as a Jew, I’m painfully aware of what happens when governments start sorting people into who belongs and who doesn’t.

You say California is a “balkanized society of strangers.” No—what terrifies you is that it’s a multiracial, multilingual democracy where people don’t need to fit your mold to deserve dignity. You want control, not safety. And you’d rather destroy democratic institutions than admit that.

Let’s talk about the fiction you’re selling. You and Trump keep pretending you’re riding some wave of public support. But Trump’s approval rating is underwater. The country’s exhausted by the chaos and cruelty. The fake profiles, bots, and trolls that flood your mentions with fire emojis don’t change reality. They just make it clearer how hollow your movement really is.

I live in Georgia. I saw real insurrection on January 6—Trump supporters waving his flag while attacking police and smearing feces in the Capitol. That wasn’t caused by immigrants. That was caused by lies—yours included.

So yes—rescind the order. Return control to California. I’ll take Gavin Newsom and immigrant communities fighting for a better life over a bitter ideologue who thinks compassion is weakness and cruelty is strategy.
