If you think our lead in the WWFC TOP 10 (Bonsang) means our position in the VISA FANS’ CHOICE OF THE YEAR (Daesang) is safe, you are seriously mistaken.

THE BONSANG AND DAESANG ARE TWO DIFFERENT CATEGORIES WITH SEPARATE VOTING AND RANKINGS. Leading one does not guarantee that we are leading the other.

The VISA FANS’ CHOICE OF THE YEAR is a BLIND VOTING CATEGORY, which means we have no idea on where we stand on that category. Our competition does not end with the male nominees. We are also competing against the female nominees, and if you think their fandoms are not a threat, you are underestimating them. Their voting power is enormous, and we can’t afford to ignore that fact.

WE DO NOT KNOW OUR ACTUAL POSITION IN THE DAESANG RACE. A strong lead in the Bonsang is not evidence that we are ahead in the Daesang. While we celebrate one ranking, other fandoms could be building an advantage we can’t even see.

Do not mistake confidence for security. Do not wait for the final results to realize that we should have done more.

WE CAN’T AFFORD TO BE COMPLACENT WHEN WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHERE WE STAND. Take the Daesang voting seriously. Remind fellow ENGENEs that the Bonsang lead offers us no guarantee, and make sure our efforts reflect the importance of this award.

We know what is at stake. Let’s not give ourselves a reason to regret taking this lightly.
