@KSTP We need to stop this project and any further expansion of the light rail. I have yet to see any of these trains being fully utilized. The state could buy a new car for every person who rides the train and the tax payers would come out ahead.

Here is the basic issue and I don’t care what side of the aisle you are on. The math is the math. Taxes, government fees (tabs) and mandated insurance (I call this another tax) rates are increasing at a far greater rate than income or returns on investments. This is a path to destruction of our state and country. The math stops mathing and the situation will accelerate because those who create jobs and make the most will flee to lower tax states or countries. Government is full of waste at all levels. We have to rein it in.
@Cryptoboyy_Aji Taxes isn’t just your income taxes and your are forgetting about insurance (basically another tax). Remove property taxes, vehicle registration and insurance and there isn’t much left.
@amyklobuchar@mbrodkorb How about you worry about the fraud in our state and the absolute crazy high vehicle registration fees we pay. Suspend those and it will more than cover the high cost of gas.
Wonder why commercial values are declining? Only solution of course is to increase taxes. Still haven’t fixed the root cause yet.
“It’s partly prompted by declining commercial property values. If the city can’t make up for a 20% drop in commercial property tax revenue, homeowners could end up paying more. “
@CheyCab Yes, but also see people just spending less due to fewer food items in their carts. This could also be related to SNAP and EBT changes. Lots of dynamics happening right now. Just glad to see an effort by many to eat healthier. Good for everyone.
