If saying no means losing your ability to travel, access public life or support your family, that is not a free choice.

It is coercion dressed up as consent.

As @michelleworton said: “Coercion is not consent.”

Informed consent requires honest disclosure of the known benefits, material risks, uncertainties and reasonable alternatives. It requires the capacity to understand that information and, most critically, the freedom to refuse without punishment or undue pressure.

Consent obtained under threat of serious consequences may be compliance.

But compliance is not consent.

Freedom requires more than being permitted to say no. It requires being able to do so without having your livelihood, rights or place in society threatened.

Governments demanded compliance in the name of “the public good,” only for those who were injured to be abandoned by the very governments that demanded it.

If government asks individuals to bear a risk for the public good, it must also accept responsibility for the burden that follows. This should not be controversial!

Governments and institutions cannot impose serious consequences for refusal and later escape responsibility by claiming, “No one forced you.”

Pressure backed by punishment is coercion. A decision made under coercion is not a free choice and without a free choice, there is no meaningful informed consent.

That’s not journalism. That’s a man who has never sat with anyone whose life actually broke after the shot and decided their existence is a branding problem.

The press gallery didn’t miss the inquiry because it was hidden. It’s in the building. They missed it because looking would mean admitting some Canadians were told they were fine while they weren’t.

At a minimum, the injured should be supported without onerous delay or bureaucratic processes. They only did what they were told to.

But even that would be to admit that the "safe and effective" mantra was without evidentiary support.

One of the more instructive things about this topic is the way that the legacy media and the institutions so given talking about vulnerable people have nothing to say, and avert their eyes from state failure.

They told us it was safe.

They told us it was effective.

They demanded compliance in the name of the public good.

But it was not safe for everyone.

It was not effective as promised.

Individuals were seriously injured and then abandoned by the very governments that demanded their compliance.

Carrie Sakamoto did what her government asked of her. When she suffered a life-altering vaccine injury, that government left her to navigate the medical, financial and bureaucratic consequences largely on her own.

If government demands that citizens accept a medical risk for the supposed benefit of society, it must accept responsibility when that risk becomes someone’s devastating reality.

Carrie kept her end of the bargain.

Her government did not.

No matter the consequences, @DeanAllisonMP felt he was supposed to host an inquiry to listen to COVID “vaccine” injured Canadians.

He knew the risks: possible expulsion from the Conservative caucus, mainstream media ridicule, and real damage to his career.

But he still went ahead because the injured deserved to be heard.

This is the kind of courage Parliament needs more of.
