@JulieMo30037735@ruskin147 Unfortunately theatre cases are normally postponed due to emergency theatre cases requiring the time slot, which cannot be predicted. The NHS are trying their best but it just happens that way sometimes. Sure he’s being looked after during his wait 🙏🏻
9 out of 10 patients are seen by radiography professionals – doctors & nurses can’t do their jobs without us.
Members at @uhbwNHS are asking the @DHSCgovuk to recognise how vital we are to the patient pathway and to invest in our workforce.

1M people are waiting to be seen by a radiographer but we do not have enough staff to meet the demand. The UK vacancy rate for radiographers is currently 12.7%.
Members at @uclh are asking the government what they plan to do about this recruitment crisis? #respectradiography
@BrennanSurgeon Side note- there’s never a space for radiographers and that always got to me. So many surgeries can’t go ahead without us yet there’s not even a space on the board for our name.
@quixoticosis Are people really out here just leaving their cats by themselves for weeks? 😳😳😳longest I leave mine without someone popping in to care for her is 24hrs.
@SebPillon However as a patient communication must be better. After struggling to get an appt for ages my receptionist told me theres another way of booking appts online that HALF of the appts are allocated to. I’ve been there 6 years and never knew!
@SebPillon Wow, thanks for the insight, I knew you worked hard but had no idea you crammed all of this into one day and by the sounds of it without much frustration, but empathy and care for the patients instead.
@DrEilidh @Hanarghhhh@ACEMcCormack I did say the odd phone call, not all of them. I spend so so much of my time ringing to speak to doctors to clarify or change x-Ray requests as they’re incorrect or unclear. Also to alert you of urgent findings. These should be reasonably answered.
@Hanarghhhh @DrEilidh @ACEMcCormack Well that’s not what I said the phone call was did I? Nor did I say you had to constantly answer the phone. But taking the odd phone call instead of muting it, yes is part of the job, as a team. You know the team you ask to be allowed in the staff room of. It’s all the same.
@Hanarghhhh @DrEilidh @ACEMcCormack That’s extremely ignorant and irresponsible, it’s everyone’s jobs to answer the phone. You don’t know how urgent that phone call could be. Doctors number and bleeps numbers aren’t always available to people have to call the ward to get hold of you.
