@AmandaDay_20@AlabamaBSB Praying with and for the Adams fam.
Alabama baseball & Charles Haddon Spurgeon are two things I love deeply and never expected to see together. It makes me want to pull even harder for your boy going forward.
@rogerpatmyers Roll Tide, Roger. I got to be there all weekend with my son who is the same age I was the last I was rooting on the Tide in Omaha.
This program would literally be nowhere close to Omaha right now without your consistent investment through the years.
@Wm_Galloway We ran into Tony in the halftime bathroom line last night. This was right after Whit Weeks dad assaulted a college kid right in front of us and was escorted away by an officer. It was a crazy few minutes.
Had an incredible time this week taking in Boston sports, history & significant conversations with my boy… so encouraged by the young man he is becoming by the Lord’s grace!
Thankful for the Whitlocks & Edison’s help in making this an incredible trip!
This season was the last dance with these incredible Southside kids.. it was filled with homeruns, walkoffs & a lot of joy! We brought home multiple rings & finished getting to play in the gold bracket state championship... I'll be forever grateful to God for these precious days!
It’s heartbreaking to see so many professing Christians compromise moral convictions for the promise of political power.
This isn’t particular to only one eschatological position, but it seems one’s convictions in this area can seem to more easily lead one to compromise.
@garyharris_wvua Next time you talk to Keith Pugh, ask him about getting a call from Coach Bryant the Summer after Tommy’s freshman year. Tommy wasn’t leaving Louisiana and he wanted dad to call him to convince him to come back to Tuscaloosa.
Experienced one of the greatest joys of my life on Sunday getting to baptize my son… there truly is no greater joy than to see your children walking in the truth! (3 John 4)
Here's an article I wrote a couple years ago for Juneteenth.
When I wrote it, I made @isickadams promise that he'd come to Birmingham & preach at ICC someday... I'm so thankful, by the Lord's kind providence, he is now preaching most Sundays to our church family!
@FunnyMaine They really are the best... Mother Teresa is a wonderful woman, and my dad was the leading receiver on national championship teams on the field and an even better dad at home.
The Pughs are so proud of you, Drake!
BSC is one win away from playing in the World Series… what a sweet end to a bitter year for the Panthers that would be!
BSC baseball has brought some incredible young men into our church family through the years.
What a privilege to get to coach these boys this season… your 8U regular season & playoff champs, the Southside Red Sox!
It was super sweet to not only coach my son, but have 2 brothers from our church volunteer to coach with me & to get to enjoy this season with them as well.
My excellent wife has also invested so much into this school this year, which made it an extra sweet night to be able to celebrate with our Gators fam!
Glen Iris Elementary cemented their dynasty last night when their 3rd Birmingham City Schools Championship in a row… Proud of my boy, who already has old man knee pain, playing two full games on back-to-back nights to bring another championship home for his school.
@rogerpatmyers The Whitlocks are my next door neighbors in Birmingham… Garrett texted me last night after his game asking how my son’s All-Star game went. He is an incredible pitcher, but an even better person!
May the Tide teach those old baptists to behave today! Roll Tide, Roger.
@isickadams Haha... I thought that wording sounded a little familiar, but as always, the way you said it sounds better!
Thanks for the intentional encouragement, my beloved brother!
Two reasons we often don’t pray:
1) We think prayer is INEFFICIENT. “I have stuff to do! Does prayer really help? Prayer will just slow me down.” Ah, yes, precisely.
2) We think we are SELF-SUFFICIENT: “I got this! I can handle this!” No, you cannot. It is all grace.
Pray.
