All day today you will hear coalition MPs saying the Stage 3 tax cuts were designed to “benefit 95% of Australians”. Jane Hume just ran this talking point on @abcmelbourne. It is a lie.
Currently Stage 3 will overwhelmingly benefit wealthy men.
We're on the brink of a big moment with the government's Stage 3 Tax cuts.
There's growing unrest within the government about funding massive tax cuts for the rich.
Keep up the pressure. This could be the first time in decades that a campaign to stop unfair tax cuts has won.
Senator Jane Hume says the Stage 3 tax cuts are for “95% of Australians”. That's crap.
Two thirds of the money goes to men. The richest 1% get as much as the bottom 65% combined.
They turbocharge inequality. They’ve got to go.
I welcome the U-turn on the 45p tax cut. But if you really wanted to “listen”, you’d also raise benefits, reverse cuts to corporation tax, and reinstate the cap on bankers’ bonuses.
12 years of failed Tory economics have plunged millions into poverty.
Do you “get it” now?
Every MP has the resources to survey every household in their electorate via mail out on major issues. I did it quite often to gauge the view of the electorate.
Stage 3 tax cuts is one of those issues.Wouldn’t it be novel to ask the people what they think and proceed accordingly.
Hi @AlboMP and @JEChalmers I’m a high earner and I’m doing fine but a lot of people aren’t. I’d be happy to forego tax cuts in favour of improved services in health, housing and education. Really, I don’t need the money and we’d all be better off without the cuts. #auspol
Presenting our Fall Fashion issue cover star: Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
She’s left the Firm behind. Harry’s found a polo team in Santa Barbara. The kids are doing great. Now she's ready for her own next act. @AllisonPDavis reports: https://t.co/6BkWogbIdJ
@BevanShields Where's your apology Bevan? You're the editor. You and your staff forcibly outed someone, during Pride month no less. You need to write a front page apology to Wilson and the queer community. It's 2022. Time to apologise.
Can someone - #BevanShields perhaps - explain to me why it’s in the public interest to out #RebelWilson, but not to reveal that #BarnabyJoyce was having an affair with a staffer while campaigning on the sanctity of marriage? (The press knew, for ages, & didn’t report)

Today’s inflation figures have confirmed what Australians already knew about the past decade of Liberal Government: the cost of everything is going up, but your wages aren't.
FFS, everyone from John Howard to Adam Bandt has said "so what" about Albanese's inability to come up with those figures on the spot. And ABC News Radio is still leading with it.
