i have a lot of appliances plugged into my wall but i unplug them when i am done using them!!! this helps the environment and lowers my family’s electricity bill :)) @franklinlorax @apesenergy
In order to preserve energy and be more cost efficient, I am always sure to unplug chargers, appliances, tools, and lamps when not in use! @franklinlorax#apesenergy
this decorative incandescent lightbulb gives off 90% heat energy rather than light. this kind of lightbulb is much less efficient than LED bulbs, which can last up to 25x longer! #apesenergy@franklinlorax
this pint of my favorite ice cream has 112g of sugar. because sugar has an LD50 of 30g/kg, that means i could eat about 11.5 pints before i reach my lethal dose 😋 @franklinlorax#apesland
there is so much public land for use in wisconsin. this is great because it give my dog lots of room to run around to get his energy out, plus it’s a great scenery with all the trees and plants:)@franklinlorax#apesland
@pranavik12@LaurenKriegAPES@franklinlorax i love walking to culvers in summer instead of driving! it lessens my ecological footprint and gives me time to enjoy the weather :)
Mr. Gain drives a Toyota Tundra trucks, meaning that it has poor gas mileage. This increases his ecological footprint because he is helping increase the release of greenhouse gases! Thumbs down for Mr. Gain 👎👎👎 #apespop@franklinlorax
i love growing my own vegetables! in growing my own food, it causes me to eat more plant-based meals, therefore reducing my ecological footprint :) @franklinlorax#apespop
#apeseco@franklinlorax I love collecting and pressing dried flowers! Most plants are autotrophs, meaning that they create their own food with water, sunlight, and CO2 :)
Although this is just a teddy bear, real bears are k-strategists, meaning that they only produce a small amount of offspring to take care and raise until they can be independent. This is different from r-strategists, who mass produce offspring at a time. #apeseco@franklinlorax
this is a gray garden slug i found in my backyard! garden slugs are beneficial to the environment, especially this time of year, because they decompose dead leaves and other organic material :) @franklinlorax#apesecology
this storm drain catches all the rainwater from my gutters to prevent flooding, where it then leads to a storm sewer and into our treatment plant. leaves and other organic material can be filtered from the water and released back into Lake Michigan! @franklinlorax#apeswater
