Excited to unveil something good from the pandemic! Two exquisite remote studies of decision-making: I - movements on tablets and phones are as (more!) sensitive to difficulty as🖱️; II - webcam eye tracking fills the gap, showing info gathering from stim display to move onset
And Paper I. - @OuelletteZuk 's great MSc work w/ 300+ crowdsourced participants on phones, tablets and computers!🤩
Continuous Measures of Decision-Difficulty Captured Remotely: I. Mouse-tracking sensitivity extends to tablets and smartphones https://t.co/jeX8zkIIgB
🚨Fresh pre-print alert! Our 2nd of a series abt remotely indexing decision difficulty🧑💻w/ A+ team @OuelletteZuk + @movinisthinking 🌟
Continuous Measures of Decision-Difficulty Captured Remotely: II. Webcam eye-tracking reveals early decision processing https://t.co/q5CHfgD3l6
a great first couple of days at #CHI2023 🤗 - gave my talk and had some awesome Q’s and chats (still trying to forget about my tech issues though lol 🫠), and have learned about so many cool research projects. I only wish I heard of CHI sooner!! Oh and Hamburg is 😍
I'm v excited to share our insights about digital interactions and how our findings can inform design decisions. Stop by my talk at #CHI2023 on Monday at 17:30-17:45 in Hall F, or connect here! I love chatting about vision/movement, online/remote testing + noisy data approaches!
On Monday at #CHI2023 I’ll be [excitedly😊] presenting our paper “Dynamics of eye-hand coordination are flexibly preserved in eye-cursor coordination during an online, digital, object interaction task” (work w/ @movinisthinking )
Quick summary time!👇
We are really excited about this empirical finding, but we're also proud of the methods contribution here (serious data processing!). This is a proof-of-concept that remote, online, cursor-tracking and webcam eye-tracking can capture distinct visuomotor dynamics during HCI tasks.
thrilled that our paper has been accepted (cond.) to @acm_chi#chi2023 ! thank you @movinisthinking for fully supporting this pandemic pivot from the lab to remote🖱️cursor-tracking +👀webcam eye-tracking. v excited to share more + connect w/ folks as CHI'23 approaches!🤓
Taking the ACELab home for our strong finish to #SfN2022 is Helen Ma (with @DanaHayward1 and @jkbertrand). Poster this afternoon (TT12) describing results from a 2 player online game where shared cursor position was the communication channel that changed based on social context.
The ACELab's strong finish to #SfN2022 continues with @jkbertrand presenting a poster this morning (DD3) examining eye-hand (mouse cursor) coordination in an online (webcam eye tracking!) recreation of a real-world object interaction task.
Next up for the ACELab's strong finish to #SfN2022, @BreaChouinard gives a talk (SDCC 25, 9am) looking at how autistic and non-autistic observers can use cues from another person's movement to predict their movement goals.
First up for the ACELab's strong finish to #SfN2022, @scottallanstone presents a poster this morning (CC15) on how we measured eye-hand (mouse cursor) coordination to assess user experience during UI navigation of video games.
day 3 of #SfN22 for the ACELab was nice and relaxed (including a little sleep in for some…/me😚). Personal highlights: Tiago Branco’s keynote, the minisymposium on quantifying behaviour, and my suitcase’s return (after 4 days, against all odds lol @united 👀🙃)
oops, already tired from #SfN22 that I missed the day 2 tweet yesterday! 😅 Great to see Gabi Oancea’s first poster presentation of her undergrad research work at @UofT 🎉 we are very lucky to have Gabi as our newest ACELab member! ✨
