@paddy_de@jeremy_hume@jose_farth The initial point was to vote on a whether we have a national lockdown, considering it has more effects than just slowing the spread of C19. Hypothetically, should that vote result in no lockdown, there is nothing to stop the old, vulnerable and the concerned from shielding.
@paddy_de@jeremy_hume@jose_farth Most people struggle to understand the rationale behind destroying the country’s economy off the back of a virus with a 0.6% mortality rate. But as I’m sure you’re aware, there’s nothing to stop you shielding at home on your own with your box sets for the next 12-months.
@paddy_de@jeremy_hume@jose_farth There’s an estimated 50,000 new cases a day right now and restaurants and pubs are fully booked at the weekends and still making good money throughout the week. Take pubs and restaurants out of the equation and there’s still a number of other sectors that would sink financially.
@paddy_de@jeremy_hume@jose_farth God knows what people in the hospitality, retail and trade sectors will pay for those box sets with after being out of work for a year, I doubt HMV accept Claps for the NHS
@paddy_de@jeremy_hume ..And that’s exactly why we should vote. People such as yourself could vote for a lockdown. Myself and others who aren’t keen to sit at home for a year watching box sets can get on with our life’s and take the very small chance we might die from covid. Then we can see the result.
so let’s go on lockdown in order to avoid people who don’t live with each other coming into contact but let’s also not close schools where thousands of kids from different households come into contact with one another🙂🙂🙂 #UKlockdown
