We are calling on the attention of the Department of Labor and Employment and all concerned government offices handling labor rights in the Philippines. Please, we need your help regarding the lack of empathy and concern shown by some BPO managements during calamities like this.
Here’s a thought: maybe companies should have their own “Plan B” like letting people work from home, or at least allowing absences when conditions are dangerous. Because no job is worth risking your life for.
This isn’t about laziness. It’s about basic human decency and safety. We’re people, not machines. It’s sad how some companies preach “employee care” but the moment nature goes wild, they show zero empathy just “Plan B” this, “You should’ve done that.”
My friend wasn’t asking for special treatment just understanding. She didn’t deserve to be guilt-tripped for prioritizing her life and her kids over a shift.
Excuse me? How do you plan against a typhoon that suddenly intensified overnight? Not everyone has relatives in Lapu-Lapu who can house us just because management doesn’t want to lose attendance. Not everyone can just abandon their kids or risk getting stranded just to clock in.
She even apologized and detailed how she’d been waiting for almost two hours, no ride, with kids left at home and the weather worsening. You could really feel she was doing her best to be responsible and considerate.
And guess what reply she got?
I just have to let this out. My friend was literally stranded in the middle of a typhoon, wind and rain going wild, zero transportation, and she still tried to reach out to her boss respectfully, explaining everything.
Back in 2022, we had a chance for good governance
In 2028, please let us not commit the same mistakes of granting mandate to dumb corrupt officials
EDUCATE OUR OWN FAMILIES TO VOTE WISELY. MATUTO NA TAYO. DALHIN ANG LEKSYON NG 2025 SA 2028.

Sana some people will finally realize and be informed na the rally happening today is not just solely about politics. It’s about us, Filipinos, fighting for our rights.
We will march not for politicians, but for justice. We will raise our voices not for power, but for truth.

Sabi ng pari sa homily kanina, always pray for the people fighting for what is right. And always remember that Jesus wants us to help the poor. Not steal from them.
