Agreed. The consequence for not doing your work is doing your work. The consequence for not learning the material is that you sacrifice other things while you learn the material. When you fall of a bike when first learning to ride it, you get back on and, with coaching, try again and again until competent. To deny the reiteration is to declare incompetence acceptable, which is cop-out. Punitive, unrecoverable labels of 0 and F are NOT natural consequences in learning, and they do not teach the self-discipline and maturation some think they do.
