The five presidents Kenya has had have come from two ethnic communities, the Kikuyu and the Kalenjin. Cumulatively, the two tribes have run Kenya for 61 years - the Kikuyu have had three presidents (Jomo, Kibaki, and Uhuru) and the Kalenjin two (Moi and now Ruto). Cummulatively, the Kikuyu has ruled for more years (35) against the Kalenjin (26).

Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, has made a sensational claim which, if left to run its course, has the potential to not only undo the gains Kenyans have made in detribalizing the nation but also shifting political discourse from retrogressive tribal stereotypes to that of issue-based discourse which the country desperately needs.

Do not fool yourself, Senator Nyutu's unfortunate comments is downright tribalism disguised as a feeling for concern for the country and those clamouring for good governace.

By choosing to see Ruto as a Kalenjin and not a Kenyan, Senator Nyutu has finally gathered the courage to verbalize what the followers of Rigathi Gachagua have been silently murmuring in closed quarters - that they're putting their boots on Ruto's neck because Kikuyus cant be led by a Kalenjin, justifying why Rigathi Gachagua's eventual impeachment was not only flawless but also transtribal.

The year 2024 saw a generational shift in political ideology beginning to take root in the country, with Kenyans finally appreciating the need to unite against common policy interests transcending historical intertribal stereotypes, only to wake up on the first day of 2025 to find retrogressive primates lilke this Murang’a bigot attempting to take us back down the evolutionary tree.

The Kikuyu Nation should be informed that if they have a problem with William Ruto, they should learn to separate the bile they have for him as a person from any historical prejudices that may exist between them and the Kalenjin community.

As far as we're aware, William Ruto is not a Kalenjin president, because if he was, the Kikuyu Nation wouldn't have been the foremost political constituency who rammed him down our throats during the 2022 campaigns exalting his good deeds and kicking us in the teeth every time we brought Raila Odinga to climb Mt Kenya.

It can't be that only a Kikuyu president is the one preordained to rule the country, and in the eyes of their people, could do no wrong.

Senator Nyutu should be informed that Kenya's history is littered with untold pain and misery inflicted on Kenyans by successive Kikuyu presidents - if he has forgotten, it is a Kikuyu president who took Kenya to the first and only civil war in 2007 and had the international community not have intervened in the nick of time, Kenya would've joined the ranks of failed states torn apart by tribal genocide.

Senator Nyutu should know that the 1969 binding oath they took to promote Kikuyu entitlement over other tribes was ripped apart by the June 25th 2024 Movement, and Kenya will never be the same again.

This is 2025, and we will remind you of these things.
