Don't know what to make of the Steve Yzerman news. Pretty torn. This was supposed to work. The captain coming home to save hockeytown. Shafted with brutal, brutal draft luck. Made some great picks in spite of it. But some shockingly bad FA decisions trying to build a winner as soon as possible. Married into a raw deal with Dylan Larkin. The good-but-not-good-enough local kid who could never meet the moment.

Shouldn't take away from what he means to Detroit, but this is the right move.
