ODPP, UNODC deepen collaboration on Diversion Policy implementation
ODPP has strengthened its partnership with @UNODC to accelerate the implementation of the Diversion policy.
This follows a meeting between the two institutions at the ODPP Coast Regional Office to review progress and share experiences in applying the policy, which offers alternatives to prosecution, especially for children and vulnerable groups in conflict with the law.
Regional Head and Senior Assistant DPP, Joseph Kimanthi, reaffirmed ODPP’s commitment to fair and inclusive prosecutions while commending UNODC’s support in building institutional capacity.

Ingonga, OGW today hosted a delegation from the United Nations on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to discuss among other matters, the partnership between the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and Programme for Legal Empowerment and Aid Delivery (PLEAD).
#PLEADyetu proudly joined the @ODPP_KE on 12 April in the closing ceremony of the 2-weeks induction training of the newly recruited prosecutors. The training, officiated by DPP Renson Ingonga, equipped prosecutors with essential skills & knowledge for their roles within the ODPP.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Renson Ingonga OGW, today opened a comprehensive two-week induction Program, aimed at orienting newly recruited prosecutors at the Prosecution Training Institute in Loresho.
Supported by the @UNODC_EA through the #PLEADYetu program, the induction initiative is designed to acquaint the new counsels with the fundamental pillars of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), including its mandate, organizational ethos, internal mechanisms, and core values essential for their roles.

UNODC through #PLEADyetu handed over digital equipment including computers & scanners to @ODPP_KE to utilize the Uadilifu case management system across the 19 PLEAD focal Counties. Digitalization in the justice sector boosts access to justice and speeds up the handling of cases.
