@MattBakerSTL I’m good with either but would want to see the team commit a spot to him. Maybe he stays at RB and Tots plays LB and we get our cake and eat it too.

@MattBakerSTL Critchleys answer about winning short term with long term systems makes me think the club is auditioning Hack and Critch for full time roles. Would seem to me the only way to have both roles filled before camp too. Am I reading too much into it? % chance of Hack/Critch duo hired?

Burki, wallem, horn, Kess, Timo, totland, lowen, ostrak, hartel, celio, cedi. Yes it worked end of last match but I think it can work all game. Wallem and totland giving good wing back defense and quality attacking width. 1/3

Ostrak able to carry the ball up the field which can push hartel closer to goal. Celio and cedi play well in the channels which leaves room for hartel in the middle. 2/3

@MattBakerSTL With this news I’ll look for a hartel, klauss, celio attack. Durkin, ostrak at CM. Watts RWB. Timo in the backline. A lot of changes and celio/ostrak unlikely to play 90’ but a shake up could be warranted. The Brazilian connection has had success together before.

@MattBakerSTL I agree with your take for this game but when I saw the starting XI I wondered about Watts at LWB. I imagine something like a 3-3-3-1 that was a hybrid of your 2 original options. Any indication Watts would be considered at LWB? Thoughts on Lowen as a single pivot in a 3 CB look?

@LondonHatch We were headed to union station and drove by today. A St Louis CITY academy team playing on one side of the street and USMNT practicing on the other. People on both sides watching through the fences. Pretty cool soccer scenes today!

@FlyoverFooty @stlCITYsc Thanks for the response! In their prime is definitely what I was going for. Good perspective to have that they are likely 2-3 years from being in the top XI. It’ll be fun to watch their paths. May slowly integrate at CITY. May see loans to USL or overseas. Plenty to speculate on!

@FlyoverFooty @stlCITYsc I’m wondering how CITY integrates homegrown players from CITY2 into the 1st team. How do they get enough minutes to develop while winning MLS games? Is there a club who has done this well? Looking ahead past the current mid career starting XI to making way for the future.
