Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr Tipu Usman @Tipuusman, hosted a luncheon meeting at @PakistaninUK London, in honour of the delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI). The gathering was attended by JKSDMI Chairman Raja Najabat @Rajanajabat786, senior members of the organisation, and prominent community leaders.
Addressing the gathering, the High Commissioner appreciated the contributions of JKSDMI and the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities in highlighting the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) dispute across various forums in the United Kingdom.
The High Commissioner reiterated that IIOJK is the core dispute between Pakistan and India and that its peaceful resolution is essential for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
The High Commissioner assured the participants of the Government of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri people and their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.
The High Commissioner concluded by calling upon the community leaders to continue promoting the values of hard work, honesty, harmony and mutual respect while remaining proud of their heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI), Raja Najabat Hussain, appreciated Pakistan’s continued support for the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination. He emphasised the importance of sustained engagement with British parliamentarians, political leaders and international organisations to highlight the Kashmir dispute and the human rights situation in IIOJK. What a great selfie with the Prime Minister Andy Burnham and our new GM Mayor, Bev Craig! A fantastic moment and a proud day for Greater Manchester. 🙌🏼
It was the honour of my life to move the Loyal Address -the first Muslim to do so.
This moment belongs to the people of Bradford West. Their trust and faith in me made it possible.
An opportunity of a lifetime. A privilege I owe to Bradford and to Britain.

On behalf of DM News English It was a pleasure to host a wonderful Community Cohesion & interfaith Iftaar Dinner at Bolton Excellency, graciously organised by Dr Liaqat Malik CEO DM News English and Barrister Irfan Malik CEO Easy e Money.
The evening brought together people from diverse backgrounds, faiths and communities, united by a shared spirit of respect, understanding and togetherness.
Events like this remind us that community cohesion is not just a concept, but a lived experience. When we sit together, share food, exchange ideas and listen to one another, we strengthen the social fabric that binds us all.
My sincere thanks to Dr Liaqat Malik for his leadership and commitment to bringing communities together in Bolton. May we continue building bridges, promoting dialogue and celebrating the diversity that enriches our society.

Today I had the opportunity to attend an incredibly insightful lecture chaired by Prof. Nick Brook and delivered by @ChiOnwurah MP, Chair of the UK Parliament’s Science, Innovation and Technology Committee.
We explored how engineering and science are central to solving major challenges, from the economy and public health to democracy and climate change.
A striking moment: only 7.8% of UK engineers are from BME backgrounds. The call for greater diversity and inclusion in STEM has never been louder. 🚨👩🏽🔬👨🏿💻
🎓 I also raised a question about the skills gap and declining student numbers in higher education amidst the funding crisis. While there isn’t a clear roadmap yet, it was reassuring to hear that Parliament is taking this seriously.
🤝 Great to connect with Prof. John Mitchell, President of the Engineering Professors' Council, a valuable exchange on the future of engineering leadership.
Leader of Oldham Council, Cllr @shah_arooj, met with Chancellor @RachelReevesMP today as the government announced huge investment in public transport, including great news for Oldham 🙌
