A massive dumping site has been created next to Eidgah in Hatigam, Bijbehara. Tonnes of garbage strewn all over isn’t just a health hazard but also much of this trash is entering the fresh water stream right below. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed the first charge sheet today, before the Ld. Court of Special Judge (CBI), Chandigarh, in connection with the fund misappropriation of Chandigarh Renewable Energy Science & Technical Promotion Society (CREST) involving officials of IDFC First Bank, Public Servants of CREST and Private Persons.

A total of 13 accused persons have been charge sheeted, comprising 5 bank officials of IDFC First Bank, 2 Public Servants of the CREST (Chandigarh UT Administration), 2 Shell Entities along with 4 Private Persons. All accused persons are presently under judicial custody.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir today conducted searches at the office and residence of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO), Shopian, in connection with an alleged date-of-birth manipulation case aimed at securing undue service benefits, officials said.

The searches were conducted in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama in south Kashmir in connection with an FIR registered under relevant sections of law.

EoW said searches were carried out at the office of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Shopian, and his residence at Thamuna, Pulwama, in accordance with due procedures and in the presence of independent witnesses.

It is totally shameful that a tourist named shahrukhjordi_ has made disrespectful and unacceptable remarks about our Kashmiri sisters and women. Such comments can never be accepted.

We warmly welcome tourists as our guests, and Kashmir has always been known for its hospitality. However, anyone who comes here must respect our culture, our values, and our women.

Making offensive statements and spreading stereotypes about Kashmiri women is deeply hurtful and unacceptable. If someone comes to Kashmir with such a mindset, they should stay at home rather than come to Kashmir. We do not need tourists who make such statements about our sisters.

We have great respect for the many tourists who visit Kashmir with love and respect, and they are always welcome. But those who come with disrespectful intentions or make degrading remarks about our sisters and mothers are not welcome. The honour and dignity of our women are far more important than tourism, and such behaviour will never be tolerated.
