Windows 11: with ARM64EC, applications can mix ARM and x64 code. ARM code runs natively while x64 code is emulated.
This is great for developers. They can port those modules to ARM first that'll benefit most from native execution.

@TrippyMonster98 It's not an unreasonable interpretation to me, given how long the port has been done and VMs for testing have been available, but hey, it's shipping now :)
Google has taken a big step towards shipping Chrome for ARM64 Windows:

Yes, it's years after ARM64 Chromium-based Edge shipped, but it's actually happening!
@Myriachan On ARM64, if they're using proper capability checks or the undocumented registry keys for privileged register values, they don't really need a driver--but that doesn't mean much.
@Myriachan I rather don’t know, unfortunately. They would have had to build with a newer toolset to get ARM64, and that would have come with new warnings and checks, but who knows whether they ignored those or had issues those don't catch...
You can't get far in a COVID discussion without someone claiming the vaccines don't "stop" transmission. So for reference, here's a non-exhaustive list of published studies & preprints that show being vaccinated against COVID reduces the likelihood of COVID transmission. 🧵
We are confused that human hasn’t started getting ready for bed. She says it’s because it’s almost time to switch the calendars and that also means she has to stay up to distract us from booms other people make…

#MSIgnite
#Microsoft#Ignite just announced Azure Cobalt, an in-house Arm Server CPU. Been watching this internally for a while and I’m pretty stoked to see it go public next year.
And yeah, I don’t know if they got the name from 2014, but it would be neat if they did.
