I just got to spend the last two hours nerding out with such cool insightful people at #flights2024 about non linear stories and about theatre. My heart is so happy!
My first panel at #flights2024 was so much fun my face hurts from smiling. Thanks to @nkereuwxm and @Fatii_tii for such a great chat and the opportunity to hear more about your work! Thanks @Wiswell and @sillysyntax for hosting such a joyful conversation.
I might have become over-excited about getting my first chance to be on panels and talk about writer things with interesting and impressive people. Some might call it overcommitting. I say No regrets, Only squee.
Husband and I are very successfully raising a Marvel kid. The balloon stand at the state fair had Batman balloons. My 2 year old saw the black outfit with black pointy ears and said "it's Black Panther!"
It's official! I'll be doing lots of things at Flights of Foundry, most especially reading my short story "The Last Ever Meeting of the Chicken Express Coven" and talking in a panel with the other two finalists from last year's contest!
BEHOLD! The 2024 program!

As a mom, the latest story from @apexmag made me want to barf, cry, and jump up and down pointing and yelling SEE all at once. It's magnificent and everyone with mother should read it.

@ChelseaHodson I wrote flash fiction because of the brain fog. I didn't have the memory to write anything longer, but at least I was writing (a tiny bit). Also read drafts out loud to the baby during tummy time while editing. But mostly give yourself a break and time.

Me in November 2016: maybe at least there will be good angry music. I wonder what will be the American Idiot of the Trump era.
Green Day on December 31, 2023: surprise, it's also American Idiot
@Wiswell The Violence by Delilah Dawson is one of my favorites I've read. It's a full novel about a fictional second pandemic of random violence right on the heels of Covid and deals with abuse and also so many themes about Covid.
We've been hard at work putting together our 5-year anthology. Featuring 50+ favorite stories & poems with introductions from the authors, new art and staff interviews. Publication date: December 1st.
Here's the cover. Artwork by multi-Hugo-Award-winning artist Donato Giancola
