We had a great discussion at our latest Finance Forum, bringing finance professionals together to share common challenges, exchange ideas and learn from one another. There were great conversations exploring the opportunities and practical applications of AI in finance and how new technologies can support better decision-making, efficiency and innovation. We look forward to hosting further forums later in the year.
Today I spoke on behalf of His Majesty’s Opposition on anti-semitism on our university campuses.
For too long, Britain's Jewish community has faced unacceptable levels of intimidation and antisemitism. Every Jewish person has the right to feel safe in their home, on our streets, and on university campuses.
The Conservatives are clear: we will strengthen protection for Jewish communities, fast-track justice for antisemitic and terrorism-related offences, crack down on extremist activity, ban the IRGC, and take decisive action against those who spread hatred, seek to undermine our democracy and deport hate preachers.
There is no place for antisemitism in Britain. We will always stand with our Jewish community and defend their right to live in safety and security.
Great to see @UJS_UK's Time For Change report repeatedly referenced in this debate. We urge the government to implement it's recommendations and end the normalisation of antisemitism on campus.
Thank you @MarkJSewards for bringing forward this important debate and to MPs across parties for speaking so passionately about tackling antisemitism on campus and recognising the leading role UJS plays in that.
We had an excellent meeting with @AlistairCarns together with @CST_UK and @antisempolicy, discussing the security and safety of British Jews and the need for more education to combat antisemitism.
"Burnham inherits a country in which antisemitism has become more normalised, more extreme and more violent. He now needs to move faster and act firmer than his predecessor in his efforts to protect British Jews."

We were pleased to introduce @gregsmith_uk, the Parliamentary Chair of @CFoI, to @UJIAcharity and @WIZOuk to discuss the impactful work they do and the importance of a strong relationship between the UK and Israel.
This week, alongside @CST_UK and @antisempolicy, we have met with MPs from across all political parties to discuss the urgent need to tackle antisemitism and extremism in the UK.
Thank you to Ben Goldsborough, @Jon4HighPeak, @A_J_Snowden, @jackmrankin and @MattWestern_ for taking the time to engage with us.
This morning we met with the Deputy Leader of Reform UK @TiceRichard alongside @CST_uk and @antisempolicy to discuss the security threats facing the Jewish community as well as the implications of the State Threats Bill currently going through Parliament.
One of the key reasons we hold our annual Jewish Community Professionals’ Conference is to recognise the vital role professionals play in strengthening the Jewish charity sector. This year, we asked attendees what working in the community means to them; here’s what they said.
Yesterday we met with the Shadow Security Minister @aliciakearns alongside @CST_UK and @antisempolicy to discuss the upcoming state threats legislation and the security of the Jewish community. We also organised important conversations for @JewishWomensAid with @CMcKinnellMP and @emily4MK, also alongside CST and APT, covering a wide range of concerns, including the VAWG agenda.
We welcome the government's succesful appeal in the Court of Appeal today which upholds the proscription of Palestine Action. Palestine Action has repeatedly targeted buildings hosting Jewish communal institutions, Jewish-owned businesses, or sites associated with Israel, in ways that cause fear and disruption far beyond the immediate protest sites. Their proscription is an important measure for the security of the Jewish community.
BREAKING: The government's decision to ban Palestine Action as a terror organisation was lawful, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

We are delighted to see so many within our community honoured in the King's Birthday honours list for services to the Jewish community, combatting antisemitism and Holocaust education.
This included staff and trustees of our member organisations: @FatSideburns CEO of @JW3London and @amylaurenwagner trustee of @MaccabiGB.
We are pleased to see their dedicated efforts suitably recognised. Mazal Tov to all those who received honours.
The conference opened with two inspiring keynotes starting with Keith Black (Chair, Jewish Leadership Council) who recognised the extraordinary work being delivered across the Jewish charity sector, particularly during the challenging times the community is currently facing. Debra Allcock Tyler (CEO, Directory of Social Change) followed with her trademark honesty and humour, reminding us just how vital our work is – and reminded us about the impact we have through every interaction with those we serve.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in eight diverse workshops, alongside plenty of opportunities to network, share ideas and learn from one another. The energy in the room was truly inspiring.
We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and made the day so special and we look forward to continuing the conversations and supporting you through follow-up from the conference.
We were thrilled to welcome over 120 communal professionals from across the community to our annual Jewish Community Professionals’ Conference. There was a real buzz from the moment we began, setting the tone for a day of learning, connection and reflection.
"A police-affiliated organisation appears to have used official policing infrastructure to advance highly partisan and disturbing political positions while also participating in discussions relating to policing policy, hate crime, counter-terrorism and community relations…"
Our Director of Public Affairs @R_Langer has written to the policing minister, Sarah Jones, about a deeply troubling policy document published by the National Association of Muslim Police. Read about it in the @spectator.
The leaders of Britain's Jews have raised ‘serious questions concerning police impartiality’ and asked that the National Association of Muslim Police (NAMP) be suspended from any policy role in policing.
It comes after The Spectator revealed that NAMP had called Zionism ‘one of the manifestations of anti-Muslim hatred’, described the Israel Defence Force (IDF) as a ‘Zionist terrorist group’ and defended Hamas against ‘unverified stories about acts of violence’ committed on 7 October.
In a letter to the policing minister, Sarah Jones, yesterday the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) pointed out that these extraordinary statements were made in a policy document published on an official https://t.co/BCzu3XUF0g website, which NAMP is for some reason allowed to use.

Thank you @LauraTrottMP for taking the time to engage with staff and students at Menorah Primary School and listen to their concerns about rising antisemitism in this country. Your ongoing support is truly appreciated.
Thank you to @JLC_uk@Pajesthinktank for organising a moving visit to Menorah Primary School. The fear within the Jewish community is real & growing, & it is now shaping daily life in school. The school is surrounded with high fences & security guards all because there are people who wish to harm Jewish children simply for going to school.
That is unconscionable.
Teachers I spoke to don’t want higher fences, they want children to go to school without being discriminated.
As Shadow Education Secretary I will hold the Gvt to account to ensure Jewish children can feel safe in school, just like every other child.
It is a test of us as a society to call out this vile hatred when we see it, & to make a safer world for those amazing children I met.
This morning we met with Home Office Minister, Lord Hanson of Flint alongside @CST_UK to discuss the action the government is taking to combat antisemitism and protect the UK Jewish community.
