Okay, I’m now 50 and officially have my “get off my lawn” finger-wand. I am mounting the hobbyhorse of “Words used to mean things,” and have an initiative roll of 20 against “you know what I mean.” Giddy-up, kids.
@StevenBrust I saw this and immediately thought of you. There was a panel discussion at Minnecon once where we were talking about English being a tonal language. https://t.co/DMmH452TI5
One of my old coworkers is having a bad time. Her son committed suicide. They’re doing https://t.co/qXkDxRjZiw and it needs some help. Please consider it. No one deserves this; they deserve it less than most. If you can’t contribute, please retweet and signal boost. Thanks! 🥺
@hankgreen Miss chee vee us for mischievous. I don’t know that “favorite” is right as it makes me want to punch people. I had a friend who added the same mistaken syllable to “grievous,” too.
@MalevolentCast I’ve stuck my head in the sand to survive 4 more yrs of this crap. Don’t judge me. I worked in healthcare during COVID the last time and managed to find parts of that funny, but don’t have the strength to do it again. But seeing Malevolent call this dark and hatred…GOLD. ❤️ you.
@OfficialALW I’ve just got up the nerve to try to learn it on piano. I don’t have big hands so I never thought I was capable of playing it. It’s a revelation. I never realized the bass avoids resolving (because the chandelier’s just going up)!
@mpk I have never been anywhere near thinking of investing in any social media. I have accepted that humans are awful, taken as a whole, and will ruin anything a large number of them have access to.
@hmwendt @BraddockAveBook OH MY GOD IT’S HAPPENING!!!! Sorry, I’ve been off all the social media for so long that I didn’t know! I really needed to hear something this happy!
Oh, the irony: my #centurylink internet connection keeps dropping. I can’t troubleshoot online as my connection is dropping. The only phone # I can find is printed on the modem setup instructions, and I get “Thanks for calling Lumen. This number has been disconnected.”
