This year’s @IDWeekmtg feels like a full-circle moment. As I apply for ID fellowship, I carry the lessons and inspiration of incredible mentors and friends who helped me get here. Excited for what’s next and thankful for @IMTAVH_UPCH@AnuHazraMD@jlsalinas7@RafaellaNavarr2
This week a study, that I collaborated on, was published at @TheLancetHIV showing that despite huge progress and efforts to end the HIV epidemic, we are still far from the UNAIDS goals. Especially in lower and middle income countries. https://t.co/z0jfy96oSr
We are advertising for 2 PhDs @ThruZim - one in Medical Anthropology and one in Epidemiology. Successful fellows will register @LSHTM . @KatharinaKranz4
Conflict, epidemics, and disasters significantly contribute to Antimicrobial resistance #AMR
In these settings, people have little or no access to quality care, leading to devastating consequences for their health and contributing to the spread and development of AMR.
It is crucial to prioritize humanitarian settings in the response to AMR!
Currently, humanitarian organizations, emergency response frameworks, and humanitarian funding do not include plans to address AMR. Similarly, those working on AMR are not doing enough to address humanitarian settings where National Action Plans (NAPs) do not exist or only exist on paper. It's time to recognize and address AMR in humanitarian settings.

This week, our team was included in a publication forecasting AMR to 2050, with data collected at @IMTAVH_UPCH from Peru @InvestigaUPCH

First day off in 3 weeks working at the ICU. Went climbing, did yoga and saw my therapist after a long time. I forgot how good taking care of yourself feels ❤️
Having a mentor has been the most important factor in my career. Thanks to Dr Ochoa, I fell in love with research and with Infectious Diseases. Always thankful! @IMTAVH_UPCH@InvestigaUPCH
