i always like to revisit it every few springs/summers bc it's just that kind of book, but with the 20th anniversary of the reversal of the curse being this year, i HAD to. nothing will ever be more amazing than that. sports peaked in 2004 when we won the world series.
this book IS springtime to me. it feel like longer, sunnier days, and warmer weather, and the sound of birds and the cracks of bats. "it was a good day today. there was baseball. let it stand."
shortly after this, i started being concerned about lady macbeth leaving her fingerprints on the daggers used to kill duncan and that's when i knew it was time for bed bc elizabethan scotland definitely didn't know about forensic evidence.
for me, it would be les miserables - that book discusses justice and equity in a way i never really thought about before i read it at 18, and it changed me and turned me into the person i am today who is always trying to learn and be better while being an activist.
my mom gifted me this for christmas and i happy-cried over it. today i revisit my FAVORITE stephen king book, this time with illustrations to haunt me. :)
my current book is rouge by mona awad and while i’m only 30 pgs in, it’s giving “american psycho for the girlies with mommy issues” vibes in the BEST way
been a little absent bc life got in the way but i have read 3 books so far this year and while i can only discuss 2 of them, i will say that i am now a discworld enjoyer thanks to mort.
hey, if you're angry and disappointed in st. martin's press for their silence after some incredibly islamophobic remarks from an employee, sign this petition!! https://t.co/RKEPhMV2ft
