@TheEXECUTlONER_ Those dads look like the type i would lay down a slap bunt in slow pitch softball and then wait for them to lose their minds. Unfortunately looks like not much has changed. Life is too short to be a jackwad all the time.
I could not be more proud of this Taylor baseball team.
Their season ended today at the NAIA World Series, but they competed with grit, faith, and excellence to the very end. This picture says so much: after the final out, they gathered in prayer, together.
@tayloru
@churchtalkative “The fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom…” (emphasis mine)
It’s not “love and follow the teachings of Jesus and become a dumb robot”
I really don’t understand the hate Jaxon Dart got for introducing President Trump. Good or bad..if you support Trump or not..you're in a lose lose situation. Politics and religion are difficult for sports. Folks have the right to believe in whatever the fuck they want.
I don't know..I just live by a code..As long as it's not interfering with my shit..do whatever you want because you've got to take whatever you're on up with God. I'm too much of a sinner to be judgmental and political.
@CoachSwit Guess I’m old school played NAIA in mid 90s (shout out to Taylor Univ currently in World Series final 4)….my take is it’s basically a management power play, can help mental toughness perhaps. Will it help me steal more bases? Dunno. But if coach says it then just do it.
@JermaineCurtis If you don’t mind, I’m gonna borrow some of this for my last practice coming up for my Little League minors team. A lot of truth in what you said! Baseball is not easy and no way should any player tie their worth as a person to their performance.
@HPBAac@CoachSwit Absolutely no way any high level travel ball would have beat the team that came thru my high school some years after i graduated. Brownsburg, IN, 2005. They were 35-0, state champs. Had Lance Lynn and Drew Storen on that squad. No travel team beating them.
This is Tim Tebow.
He’s a husband, father, and son.
When he was a child, doctors told his mom to abort him due to “complications”
His mom refused.
He went on to become a Heisman Trophy winner and play in the NFL.
He now saves unborn children like him
Every child is valuable
@JermaineCurtis Coached a girls softball team years ago and one player struggled with some basics. But she had a superb attitude, wanted to learn. She kept at it, embraced the struggle and now 5 years later she’s playing varsity softball at a high school in a nearby county.
@JermaineCurtis This is great! Now how can I properly explain to the 8-10yr old Little League team I coach, most of whom have a very short attention span lol!
But so true in embracing the struggle and learning from it, not giving up. And yes maybe doing more than they thought was possible.
I just watched the sandlot again a few days ago.
Remember Smalls?
Smalls couldn’t catch the ball.
Didn’t know who Babe Ruth was.
The kids laughed at him and called him a “goofus.”
He was embarrassed.
Uncomfortable.
Out of place.
But he kept showing up.
There’s a scene where his mom asks him if he made any friends yet…
Imagine if she stepped in and told the kids:
“You HAVE to be nice to him.”
“You HAVE to let him fit in.”
“You HAVE to make him feel comfortable.”
What would that have taught Smalls?
Without the struggle:
• he never improves
• never builds confidence
• never earns his place
• never builds real relationships
• never discovers who he is
And honestly…
he never becomes part of the group.
That’s what made the story powerful.
Sometimes kids need the chance to struggle, fail, feel uncomfortable, and figure out they’re capable of more than they thought.
@RaphealDavis3 Drew Brees, also a Boilermaker. 6 ft tall, def shorter than most NFL QB’s. He was decent wasn’t he LOL.
People love to pass judgement within 5 seconds of seeing someone, but have no flippin clue.
