@abbysbookspace @zbogus77 Red Rising is absolutely marketed as YA. The cover directly compares Darrow to Ender and Katniss.

[JB @jmb378]

@Coppertouret @zbogus77 reviewers don't just get to put their quotes on a book cover

[JB @jmb378]

@Coppertouret @zbogus77 The cover of the book in question btw

[JB @jmb378]

@jmarshfof I'm not a robopenguin fan, but if you're doing a throwback do it. I honestly think it's a pretty gross looking jersey, but I also think that's kind of fun as a 3rd

[JB @jmb378]

@Coppertouret @zbogus77 I finished like a month ago and very much stand by it.

[JB @jmb378]

@Coppertouret @zbogus77 I've only read the first trilogy, but it was very much YA. YA trying desperately to seem mature, but still YA. Nothing wrong with YA btw. But it is what it is.

[JB @jmb378]

@AndrzejLMartin @tclarkmedia like, you can't read 90% of Sevro or Fitchner dialogue and think "man this is serious adult dialogue" its silly space fun. There's a Bye Felicia joke in there lol

[JB @jmb378]

@tclarkmedia I've only read the first trilogy, but it very much has the feel of YA trying really hard to be mature to me. I mostly like it, but I couldn't shake that feeling the whole time.

[JB @jmb378]

@ChairMechanic my only real complaint in that book is the lack of Patience.

[JB @jmb378]

@SpiritedSparr0w Is the person making a big deal of their birthday, or just using it as an excuse to plan a fun weekend with friends?

[JB @jmb378]

@poldy_b I know almost nothing about Holmes, haven't seen the other show or docs, haven't seen anything from Fielder before this movie, and imo it was great and my favorite movie of the year.

[JB @jmb378]

@car_a_carn42 real question here, how would you compare Stormlight to Mistborn? I wasn't impressed by any characters in Mistborn and haven't felt any real urge to read more Sanderson but seeing Kaladin so loved has me thinking about it.

[JB @jmb378]

@FilipJWrites @JamieAdStories yeah and Apt Pupil. Hell of a book.

[JB @jmb378]

@FilipJWrites @JamieAdStories Stand By Me and The Princess Bride are up there with Shawshank and LotR imo.

[JB @jmb378]

@FilipJWrites oh I missed that over there actually. Well that's good at least, she's my favorite but Arya is also great at least. Happy to see a Liveshipper took out Vin at least lol

[JB @jmb378]

@FilipJWrites @LordGrimdark yeah I get it they're the more iconic, but the others are my favorites.

[JB @jmb378]

@Mel4Chrgrs they're solid, but some of the characters kind of fizzle out as it goes imo. Alise and Leftrin are great though; I certainly still overall enjoyed all 4 books.

@Ac3C0mbat8 @zweiwalker89607 he's a good enough pilot that his uncle is the only reason he's not already a rebel pilot
