@DPGBehler Not sure if this is about Calvinism of not but it is sad listening to R. C. Sproul and his conversion experience to Calvinism ans also his descriptions of others as well weeping for days accepting fact that God has predestined some for hell and there's nothing anybody can do.

@ProvisionistP Plantinga agreed. He rejected Calvinist compatibilism as unable to account for genuine freedom, arguing that moral responsibility presupposes the real ability to do otherwise. That's a powerful philosophical case for LFW.

@Emi_Okamura_ @ProvisionistP Emi I don't think Non-Calvinists have any of a lesser view of God's sovereignty than Calvinists do. We just may have different opinions on how or what God does with this sovereignty.

@ampersandohms @1984_nate Calvinism teaches that some non-elect people experience a temporary work of the Spirit—understanding truth, conviction, even apparent faith and joy—yet were never regenerated or destined to persevere. This temporary work is called "evanescent grace" (Institutes 3.2.11).

@1984_nate We do know what Paul is saying. That's why we don't accept Calvinist soteriology. We don't start with Westminster or Dort. We start with Genesis and Abraham.

@DPGBehler They even really know what a Pelagian is or what Pelagius even believed? Literally nobody who is an actual Christian is a real Pelagian or even a semi-Pelagian.

@Soteriology101 When Provisionism says "true believers" are eternally secure, does "true believer" mean someone presently abiding in Christ through continuing faith, covenant allegiance, and obedience? Or is it defined another way?

@writeontheedg3 John Owen tried to rescue Calvinism by redefining the problem: limiting the atonement, splitting God's will into secret/revealed, and making faith exclusive to the elect. Critics say these moves relocate the contradictions—they don't resolve them.

How much teachings and podcasts of @Soteriology101 have you actually listened to in attempt to fully understand his positions? I have watched and listened to lots and lots of his material and he is constantly misrepresented online.

@Schnazzmizzle @Soteriology101 Systematic Theology is absolutely not a bad thing unless one tries to interpret doctrines only in a way to fit said systematic. I have my own systematic theology but I've tried to let the entirely of the Bible inform it, not decide beforehand what will be in it.
