I'm a former national champion rower at Wisconsin and national teamer. I coach high school rowing and do line rowing consultations for athletes aspiring to row
6: Add Youth events like -4, U17 8+s and 4+s, U16 8+s, etc
7: this will likely make the regatta a 2 or 3 day event...like most other Regional Championships
8: 2K racing on the Occoquan for juniors
Queue the Randy Jackson "that's gonna be a no for me Dawg" meme from every WMIRA coach
But in the spirit of doing a thought experiment, here's what would need to happen:
1: VASRA board disbanded and made into an org that only runs Occoquan races
2: VASRA and the championships run by coaches
3: year round rowing for VASRA teams like WMIRA teams
4: NCSRA has to get USROWING Youth Championship bids and SRAA bids - see Midwest Scholastics as an example
5: Allow doubling for events like all other Youth Regional Championships

I was speaking with one of my former rowers turned HS novice coaches and mentored him on what regatta race day timelines should look like. I wrote in my blog about it here: https://t.co/gboLMhXqG6
