The King, accompanied by Sir Clive Alderton, has arrived at Westminster Cathedral for the funeral of the Duchess of Kent.
This is the first time a reigning monarch has attended Catholic Mass on UK soil since the Reformation.
OTD in 1189 — Richard I “the Lionheart” was crowned King of England at Westminster Abbey. His reign would be dominated by the Third Crusade, earning him fame as a warrior-king but leaving England heavily taxed and often ruled in his absence. One of the most iconic medieval kings.
God is good and he does good. We can trust God, even when we can’t trace him.

William, the illegitimate son of Robert I of Normandy, became Duke in July 1035 after his father’s death. He ruled for over 30 years before crossing the Channel in 1066 to become King of England—and reshape history. #Conqueror
