Did last night help any of you find any closure? I fear that it was merely gas on the fire for me.

I now doubt that I will ever fully understand how we traded a 25-year old global icon. Dude is a one-of-one. A cold-blooded killer who rises to the occasion. A sweet young kid with a heart of gold chasing a dream in a foreign land.

A trick shot god. A basketball warlock who makes the impossible routine. Unguardable. The bigger the moment, the bigger the coconuts. Neo in the Matrix. Luke Skywalker. You don’t trade that, you build a franchise around that. The whole city thrives on that. You own the globe with that — potentially for two decades.

I honestly don’t believe I’ll ever fully be able to process this. It’s not getting better with time. I don’t even really know what to compare it to. Maybe it would be like the Cowboys trading Troy, Emmitt, Michael, recently acquired DE Charles Haley AND Jimmy Johnson for 30-yr old Bruce Smith in 1992.

There’s literally nothing like it. Ever. In the history of sports. Maybe in the history of the word “trade”.

Anyone have any suggestion of how to get over this and move on? If so, please notify the elite team of therapists working around the clock to restore my inner soul. I love you all.
