@japan_nobunaga Your posts are quite funny; but even more than that, they are utterly charming💛 Your description of the purpose of a basement struck a chord deep inside my husband and me-and we live in Texas, so we’ve never had a basement!😂
@Suzierizzo1 Ridiculous response. I once took my baby to the restroom to clean him after he spit up, and a man walked in. Um, hello! He started using the toilet right in front of me😳 Turns out I had accidentally gone into the men’s room. Even then, I had a better response than this guy!
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner I love that Jesus honors women by making them part of His story, and (again) there are many ways women can sit at the feet of Jesus and serve the Gospel message without being in the position of pastor/elder. It has been an interesting conversation. I wish you well.
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner I agree that women can certainly glorify God in a variety of ways. There is also value in submitting oneself to God’s Word. If you’re unwilling to do that, you’re not seeking His glory but your own. That’s not the case for men since the Bible doesn’t prohibit men from leading.
@Bibleandbooks1@HooksKellye@HeidenRatner Think about what you just said. Instead of being happy that the churches in my life have done things right, you’re implying that I’m just too stupid to see them clearly. Is that really how you want to respond? Or am I misunderstanding?
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner My understanding is that we are free from sin and death. We are no longer enslaved by sin, and death has lost its sting. Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). By your logic, we are free to covet, engage in adultery, murder, etc.
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner You didn’t answer the question. What about this one way of serving is so important to you? Why is it limiting when so many other areas of service are available to you?
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner Your response about men seeing ministry as glory for themselves is off base. Sure, there are men AND women who seek to glorify themselves in ministry. That will be dealt with by God Himself. But those who voted for this are trusting what the Bible says and being obedient to it.
@Bibleandbooks1@HooksKellye@HeidenRatner I guess we take membership more seriously than most. We are promising to do life together, pray for one another, lead each other back to Jesus when we are in error. It's not just about MY relationship with Jesus but about spurring one another on in the faith.
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner I would also add that any woman who would walk away from the faith because she doesn't get to preach to men is more interested in her own glory than God's.
@Bibleandbooks1@HeidenRatner It is God's Word, and His way is always right whether we understand it or not. It seems you don't know many Christian men. The men who truly follow Jesus treat the women in their lives better than we often deserve; they, in fact, love them like Jesus loves the church.
