@CougarStats Let's be honest, if the Group of 6 highest rated team is ranked #13 or lower, then an 11-1 Notre Dame will never sniff the #12 spot. They will be placed no lower than #11 and this year BYU would be no lower than #10. This would avoid the very situation you're talking about.
@johncorykelley@BYUfootball Funny you say that BYU DBs hold receivers when the receiver is the one holding the DB's wrist and won't let go. Won't even let go to reach for the ball with both hands. That's a player trying to manufacture a DPI call by the refs. But they saw through it.
GG. Beat Miami.
@NFL_Convo Doesn't a WR normally have a more urgent use for both of his hands? Like catching a ball thrown in his general direction?
Why keep holding a vice grip on the defender's wrist unless it's to manufacture a DPI call? Thankfully, the ref saw right through it.
@Morty13 "Colorado State is a TRAP GAME after the big win over Arizona!"
"TCU is a TRAP GAME coming off of a bye where we always struggle!"
"Iowa State is a TRAP GAME with players looking ahead to Notre Dame!"
"UCF is a TRAP GAME after the historic win over the Irish!"
Just stop.
@ohheyfritz Making the only play you can the Tuesday of game week: rope-a-dope. "Ah, gee, shucks, I guess we'll give it the ol' college try against the team with no weaknesses."
@jamieuyeyama ND coaches admitted they were going to require Bear to beat them with his arm. He was not going to run wild. So they went zone a lot-not fearing the pass, but to end the run-which they did reasonably well.
But alas, "Happy Learned How to Putt."
Look forward to next year in SB.
@BenCriddleShow WR with a lock grip on the defender's arm. That is the only intentional contact that is against the rules. Perfect example of a play that demands a no-call at minimum.
@Spencer_Linton@BYUfootball #5 - 1980 vs SMU (magical)
#4 - 1996 vs K-State (gritty)
#3 - 1984 vs Michigan (mountain top)
#2 - 2026 vs Notre Dame (full meaning still to be determined so could move)
#1 - 1990 vs Miami (win over team that finished #3 after thumping then #3 Texas 46-3 in the Cotton Bowl)
@JasonVegas22 Love our Big 12 compadres in OOC and playoff/bowl games. But the belt still comes off on Saturday. Then we’ll cheer for you the rest of the way.
@ProveMeWrong47@theirishtribune Dude, first, the WR had a death grip on the defender’s wrist preventing him from playing the ball. He wasn’t trying to catch it. He was trying to force a DPI call. And you fell for it.
Idiot.
2nd, you’re a hypocrite by baring false witness — even more original of a commandment.
@OldRowSports Just another BYU hater who doesn't find enough fulfillment in cheering for a different team. He just wants to make BYU fans look bad knowing that 3rd parties who have already been told BYU fans are weird will eat it up. Don't fall for it.
Utes are the worst fanbase in America.
@JustinESports 'Cats are sneaky. There is a host of noise being blasted all over the Big 12 this year, but AZ has quietly been fighting every week. I think the Wildcats take one of the two major games they have left against Utah & Texas Tech. I lean heavily to it being Utah after the Holy War.
@BYUSportsNation Post pick response by all three phases of the team: D gets a massive 3 and out, PR gets a 25 yard return to present a 55 yard field, and offense Bachmeiers the Irish for the winning TD.
@BYUSportsNation WRs and TEs all stepped up. Leonard Moore WAY overrated. All three phases stepped forward after Bear's pick: 3 n out, good punt return, and offensive drive for the win.
Amazing pass defense with TEN pass breakups. And an IMMACULATE FUMBLE!
