Could you accurately and succinctly describe your company culture right now?
More importantly, if you asked a sampling of employees, would you get consistent answers?
Leaders need to be be pro-active, not reactive to these questions.

@BigBrainBizness@jess123555 Thanks for sharing. I’d add that culture design is the shock absorber. You can’t remove the whiplash — but you can decide how the team absorbs it.
@HarryStebbings And the rebuild almost never happens because it requires one thing most founders can't do:
Admit the culture they're so proud of is exactly what broke the company. The values deck. The all-hands energy. The "we move fast" identity. You can't fix what you're still celebrating.
@BStulberg Agree. And I'll add what nobody in VC-land wants to hear:
The founders burning out at 34, the 80-hr weeks worn like a badge — that's not excellence. That's fear dressed up as ambition.
Excellence doesn't scale by destroying the people building it.
@religiongal Great piece Peggy, but I'd go a couple of steps further. Here's why they're moving left:
1. Trump killed the "family values" myth
2. Gospel principles = progressive policy
3. Global church = global worldview
4. They're actually reading (The B of M is an anti-inequality text)
@jkimballcook@LowTimePrefrenz These are all good mentions, but don’t forget Sterling McMurrin, Lowell Bennion, Gene England and Adam S Miller (still alive).
@jkimballcook Highly recommend “The Gift of Self” by Marion D Hanks to any member who strives to be a better leader in the Church.
Read it on my mission—game changer. Very underrated.
Your startup isn’t losing to AI.
It’s losing to culture debt.

@LDS_Dems Let me just add: ‘Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these…’ That scripture didn’t come with an asterisk for immigration status. Our history should humble us — not give us spreadsheets to dehumanize families who are literally doing what many of our pioneers did.
Bad Bunny performed entirely in Spanish for 123M viewers 🇵🇷—and it became one of the most-watched halftime shows ever.
65% of startups fail because they lose sight of purpose under growth pressure.

@TheTNHoller This clip by Obama needs to be on my tombstone 🪦 after I leave this earth. Couldn’t agree more with our former president. Look in the mirror America, does Trump push us to be better or worse Americans?
