I’ve made my feelings about the direction — or misdirection — of Twitter pretty clear here. But it’s never felt as bad as it has over the last few days with everything happening in Iran.

It’s completely flooded with AI slop, and it’s nearly impossible to find real, timely news.

The algorithm keeps surfacing posts that are days old, and when something finally does break through…it’s often a tweet with 10,000 retweets that (shocking, I know) turns out to be completely fabricated. Meanwhile, there’s almost no easy way to filter any of it out.

What used to be the crown jewel of real-time news honestly feels like it’s on life support at this point. I can’t believe the state the app has slipped into — “pathetic” almost feels like a compliment.
