My students called me today during class to check up on me after my car accident this weekend. I swear I'm not crying #LiesImCrying

Teachers need to have fun too you know.

First day of student teaching and there is a tornado. I guess this is a sign? #education #EmergencyPreparedness

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

Note to self and other educators: do not have a full day of teaching/classes and then fly. It's exhausting. #education #travel

@richardrossini3 @juliekmarsh FL benchmarks are created at the county level for years 1-3, lacking ability to differentiate implementation.

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@juliekmarsh @richardrossini3 these tests lack differentiation of product, which may ultimately impact student "results".

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@juliekmarsh @richardrossini3 the problem still is that these tests are not true representations of an individual's content knowledge

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@richardrossini3 @juliekmarsh In FL classrooms they are used in replacement and tend to cause anxiety in students as they're also in the TL

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@juliekmarsh @richardrossini3 rep. data is hard enough to attain for core, I fear the use of benchmarks in FL classes for data #WMs07

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@juliekmarsh @richardrossini3 problem with data statistics: it is never a "true" representation of each student's knowledge #WMs07

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@NatalieAriel definitely worrisome to start with, but at least we can count it towards a taxbreak #WMs07 #PerksOfTeaching

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@juliekmarsh I'm ready for today's live tweets. I'm so sorry I will not be there for the presentation. #WMs07

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

I will admit I was weary of the online modules, but then Module 4 and the World Language Taxonomy page were actually really useful #WMs07

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

@dana_lotito that's actually awesome! Thanks Dana! I'll be sure to share this in my methods course as well! :)

[Joshua Layne @JmlayneFrench]

I differentiated my methods tech assignment without even knowing...maybe I am acquiring teaching strategies and methods after all
