I hesitated for a long time before writing this. It’s 5:10AM, and honestly, I still don't quite know what to say.
Words have never been my strength, unlike my sister, Sarah. So, I thought it best to begin by sharing a few thoughts about her.
Sarah was the quiet heart of our family. An introspective and deeply shy soul, she possessed a kindness and empathy that wrapped around everyone she loved. She was always the one who cared for others the dependable one, and even after her accident, she remained my dearest confidante and, hilariously, my trusted advisor on all matters of the heart.
I may have been the elder sibling, but Sarah taught me perhaps the most important lesson of all. She once told me, "If you love someone, tell them. Even if you're scared to lose them, don't be like me." Sarah carried a secret love for her best friend, a love she was utterly terrified to admit for fear of shattering their bond. Just before her accident, she finally decided to speak her truth. Unsure how to begin, she wrote a poem, a beautiful, fragile expression of her courageous heart:

I've loved you in the pauses between our jokes, in the way your eyes find mine when words fall short.
You've been my safe place, my favorite hello, and somewhere along the way, my heart began to speak a language only you could hear.
I never meant for this feeling to bloom so loud.

She concluded it with a promise that if the feeling wasn't mutual and her friend wished only for their friendship, she would be content with that, for their connection was too precious to lose. I asked her then if risking such a sacred friendship was truly worth the pain, and her reply was immediate and profound.

"Yes," she said. "It's worth it... because now I know what it means to love without needing to
be held back. To feel something so real, so full, that even if we never become an 'us, I'll always carry the quiet knowing that I was loved, and that | loved fully, without regret."
That was Sarah: a quiet warrior who found strength in vulnerability and beauty in honest feeling.

It's been a year since she left, and the ache hasn't softened. I miss her in ways that language fails, in the hush of early mornings, in the spaces she once filled with quiet grace, in the moments that feel incomplete without her gentle presence.

I want to say thank you again. Every single heartfelt comment, every message you've sent, means the world to me and my family. We are so deeply grateful for your kindness.
