@DiaryofaSickGrl Lumbar support pillows.
I’ve been on Lexapro since 2001. I’ve attempted to wean myself off it several times. Never made it longer than 6 months. Fabulous Lexapro.
Still struggling with ADHD med side effects. Coffee remains my medication of choice for functional daytime hours.
@DiaryofaSickGrl My mom has a walker with a seat, and the seat has a little fold-up storage area. Amazing.
Ice pack hat for migraines.
CBD hasn’t helped with either migraines or anxiety as much as I hoped, but propranolol has been awesome.
Sumatriptan. Life saver.
@CannistraroJohn@whereisyvette Sometimes small talk takes too much brain power and effort. The period of time when a new parent has a 4 week old infant absolutely obliterating their sleep is definitely one of those times.
@whereisyvette@KarinaVoggel Also, PhDs are much more expensive in the US than they were just a couple years ago. $2k/month for the smallest possible apartment, on $35K/year salary? And food costs more, too?
I mean, follow your dream, but you gotta sleep somewhere, too.
@whereisyvette@KarinaVoggel Sure, and that has been my attitude. But some frighteningly large number of us also came out of it with chronic depression. Everybody has to do their own calculation, but I think that can, and does, and SHOULD change the math on this.
@KarinaVoggel @ashleyruba_phd TL;DR it’s not an advert for capitalism. Capitalism has ^already^ ruined the PhD system in the US, and is in the process of wrecking the public university system overall. It’s very fair to look at most of a decade of mental abuse and poverty wages and opt to take a pass.
