posa un exemple molt revelador del que està passant a l’economia dels EUA:

L’any 1985, l’empresa més valuosa del país, IBM, donava feina a 400.000 persones. Avui, la més valuosa és Nvidia: val vint vegades més, però té només un 10 % d’aquella plantilla.

No és cap anècdota. La majoria de gegants tecnològics presenten ràtios molt elevades de capitalització borsària per empleat. Els beneficis es disparen, però també els acomiadaments. El desplaçament del treball cap al capital fa més de 40 anys que avança.

La conclusió d’Ip és inequívoca: a l’economia nord-americana, una part creixent de la renda va al capital —beneficis empresarials, valor de les accions, grans fortunes i empleats “superestrella”, mentre que una part cada cop menor va al treball sous i prestacions de la majoria.

Ha estat una bona notícia per als consumidors perquè baixen els preus dels productes amb béns i serveis més barats.

Però és una dinàmica dura per als treballadors: des de la pandèmia, els beneficis corporatius s’han disparat, mentre que els salaris amb prou feines han crescut.

New breakthrough quantum algorithm published in @Nature today: Our Willow chip has achieved the first-ever verifiable quantum advantage.

Willow ran the algorithm - which we’ve named Quantum Echoes - 13,000x faster than the best classical algorithm on one of the world's fastest supercomputers. This new algorithm can explain interactions between atoms in a molecule using nuclear magnetic resonance, paving a path towards potential future uses in drug discovery and materials science.

And the result is verifiable, meaning its outcome can be repeated by other quantum computers or confirmed by experiments.

This breakthrough is a significant step toward the first real-world application of quantum computing, and we're excited to see where it leads.
